11)   Overtaking –Do not try to overtake on sections of Singletrack

12)   Two Way Traffic – on one section of the Mountain Marathon route riders may be travelling in 2 directions. Please giveway to riders coming up hill, it’s a lot easier to get going again downhill.

13)   Retiring from the Course – riders wishing to retire from the challenge should continue on the course until they reach the next Marshal, give the Marshal their rider number and seek further instructions. DO NOT LEAVE THE COURSE UNTIL YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO A MARSHAL. This is vital to ensure rider safety. Road transport will be available from 2 points on the 100km course.

14)   End of the Challenge – whether you finish the course, retire or are withdrawn at a check point, every rider MUST return to HQ at Adderstone Field to sign off. 15)   Respect – we expect respect in all aspects of the event, to

17)   Mechanical Support – is provided at 1 point on the Cyclosportive, and 2 points on the Mountain Marathon. Small repairs will be undertaken. Riders requiring spare parts will be expected to pay for them at HQ on return

18)   Rider Responsibilities:

a)       It is the responsibility of all riders to look out for one another and help another rider in distress, whether mechanical or medical. Marshals are placed strategically around the course, but will rely on riders informing them of any problems. If you encounter a rider with any kind of problem, stop to see if you can help; if you can’t, get the riders number and continue to the next Marshal telling them the rider’s number and roughly how far back up the course they are.

b)      Following course markings – the course is marked with arrows, marker tape on the floor and  spray painted arrows on the floor. All junctions are clearly marked, but you must look for the markers. Don’t ride with your head down and do not ride across the tape. Continue on the trail/road you are on unless a turning is marked. Longer straight sections are marked just with spray paint on the floor. It is the responsibility of the rider to make sure they are going the right way.
